WOMEN'S MINISTRY IN 2015
2015 Women’s Ministry events began with the first annual Women’s Winter Brunch in January. This event focused on different methods of studying God’s Word presented by four of our Bible study teachers. The Summer Social was held in June where we learned about the importance of serving in our local community and ways we could get involved over the summer. October brought Carolyn McCulley to Tallahassee from Washington DC for a two-day conference that focused on living a life that most glorifies God at every age and stage of life. At each of these events we enjoyed fellowship as a community, great food, and beautiful praise and worship music.
There were many opportunities for our ladies to dig deep into God’s Word and grow in relationship with our savior throughout 2015. In the spring there were eight Bible studies in session from January through April, six fall Bible studies from September through November and a variety of book clubs that ran throughout the summer months. To further equip our teachers and to train women interested in stepping into this role, we offered a leadership training course in November. The class, “Women Teaching Women”, was taught by Jen Wilkin and attended by 28 ladies.
To make any of the 2015 events and Bible studies happen required the work of many, many volunteers that gave of their time and talents to serve the women of Four Oaks Community Church. Thank you for blessing this body of believers.
Four Oaks Women’s Ministry desires to equip women as disciples of Christ, for their own spiritual maturation, for the betterment of the total ministry of the church, for the good of the marriages and families of the church, and for their life in the world. We desire to lead women to embrace the great assurance and hope of their identity in Jesus Christ, and to claim and enjoy satisfaction in him. We treasure Christ together through prayer, study and application of the Word, fellowship, and service to one another and our local community. We encourage the older women to be examples and teachers of the younger women. We are committed to raising up women who exemplify biblical womanhood to the glory of God, and who possess an insatiable longing to see the display of God’s glory in the local church.
