NOTE START DATE CHANGE: THE IMPERFECT DISCIPLE BOOK CLUB NOW STARTS JULY 11
Join Erin Petscher and Terry Dudley as they read and discuss The Imperfect Disciple by Jared Wilson. They will meet at Erin's home (in the Buck Lake area) on Tuesdays from 9:30 - 11:30am beginning July 11, and ending August 8th, with a break for July 4.
This book was written for people who want to follow Jesus more closely but keep making mistakes in the process. The author keeps it real, and is really humble as he does it. He covers common problems that we all slide into, as well as suggestions for how to lean on the Lord as He rescues us from the pits we dig ourselves. This isn't a book about how perfect people can pull others up to their status. This is a book about embracing our imperfections so we can behold the only one who matters. It is about falling back in love with Jesus, in love with the Bible. As Wilson puts it, this contains "the secret of the universe. This holy book contains, actually, the very word of the very God. "
Be sure to purchase your book, which is available at amazon.com, lifeway.com and christianbook.com, and read chapters one and two prior to the first class. We hope you will join us!
Don't we all want to raise good kids? And be good parents? But what exactly do we mean by "good?" And is "being good" really the point?
This summer, join Julia Stake, Brittney Harlacher, and Sarah Halsell as we take a 4-week look at what it means to offer our children GRACE rather than a list of rules they (and we!) could never attain. We want to "tell our kids of the grace-giving God who freely adopts rebels and transforms them into loving sons and daughters" and we want to encourage each other to drink deeply of the grace given to us in Christ as moms.
We will meet on Wednesday nights from 7/12-8/2 from 6:30-8:00pm at the home of Julia Stake. All you'll need is a copy of the book (found on Amazon - Give Them Grace: Dazzling Your Kids with the Love of Jesus by Elyse Fitzpatrick) and an open heart to see more of Jesus.
Please come the first week having read the Introduction. We hope you'll join us!
Join Debbie Pittman and Stephanie Johansen as they read and discuss Crazy Busy by Kevin DeYoung. They will meet Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 8pm for six weeks beginning June 8 and ending July 20 with a break the week of July 4.
Can a busy life actually lead to a barren life? Are activity and productivity the same thing? Join us as we find practical, biblical ways to get the right perspective on our schedules. The book is short, but the discussion and sharing will be long-remembered.
Each participant is responsible for purchasing her own book, which can be found at amazon.com, lifeway.com, and christianbook.com. Please read chapter 1 prior to the first club.
The group will meet at the Pittman home in Killearn and light snacks will be provided.
Join Kristen Palmer Monday evenings from 7:30 - 9pm this summer to read and discuss the book Own Your Life by Sally Clarkson. This seven week book club will meet from June 19 - August 7, with a break for the week of July 4, and will be held at Kristen's home.

"This short book is meant to lay out the essentials of the Christian message, the gospel. It can, therefore, serve as an introduction to the Christian faith for those who are unfamiliar with its teachings or who may have been away from them for some time.
This volume is not just for seekers, however. Many lifelong Christian believers feel that they understand the basics of the Christian faith quite well and don't think they need a primer. Nevertheless, one of the signs that you may not grasp the unique, radical nature of the gospel is that you are certain you do... This book, then, is written to both curious outsiders and established insiders of the faith, both to those Jesus calls "younger brothers" and those He calls "elder brothers" in the famous Parable of the Prodigal Son." (from the introduction of The Prodigal God)
Join Jeanine Post and Jill Mattox as they read and discuss Awe by Paul Tripp. They will meet at Jeanine's house on Tuesday nights from 7:00 - 8:30pm beginning June 6 for seven weeks with a break the week of July 4.
Humans are hardwired for awe.
Whether it’s the Grand Canyon, a beautiful work of art, or the birth of a baby, we love to be amazed. But there’s something—or Someone, rather—who surpasses all others: God himself.
Helping us kindle an ever-growing passion for God’s glory, this book by popular author Paul David Tripp reminds us of the importance of awe for shaping everything we choose, decide, think, desire, say, and do. Reflecting on how awe for God impacts our approach to spiritual warfare, ministry, material things, and more, Tripp will energize your love for God by opening your eyes afresh to the glory of his love, grace, and power.
Be sure to purchase your book, which can be found at amazon.com or paultripp.com, and read chapter one prior to the first meeting.
