Safari Sundays starts june 4!

4Oaks Kids will be going on Safari this summer on Sundays during 2nd service (11am on 6/4-9/3)!

At Killearn, we will kick off our wild summer with a lunch for all of our 4OaksKids rising 1st-6th graders and their families on June 4th right after church (12:30pm). Meet us at the Watering Hole (youth room) for a fun time! Click here to sign up for the Killearn Safari Sundays kick-off lunch.

There are dozens of names for God found in the Bible, and all of them have great meaning and speak to His character. Getting to know God's names IS getting to know God!

In addition to learning and studying the names of God, children will earn "Jewels of the Nile" for learning Bible verses and performing acts of service at home or in the community. They can use their jewels to purchase special safari gear Watering Hole store.

The 1st Sunday of each of the summer months (6/4, 7/2, 8/6, & 9/3) will be "Big Kid Sundays," where  children will join their parents for Worship.  They'll  hear a special message just for them and have a worksheet that they can complete during the service, which will earn them a "Jewel of the Nile."

Please note the following details about our summer programming:

  • Safari Sundays will be offered during 2nd service only in the Youth Room.
  • We will not have summer programming for elementary ages during the 1st service.
  • We will have nursery & preschool during both services, as usual.
  • Fall programming for 4Oaks Kids and 4Oaks Students will resume on September 10 during both services.

4OaksKids offers classes for babies through 4th grade during both of our services at 9 & 11AM during the school year, from the week after Labor Day through Memorial Day weekend. During the summer, we offer classes for nursery and preschoolers during both services, and for K-5th grade during the second service only, except for the first Sunday of each month (June-September) which are “Big Church Sundays” when children can worship with their parents in the sanctuary.

5th through 8th graders are offered classes through Student Ministries. Click here for more information.

At Four Oaks, we desire to partner with parents in equipping children with an understanding of the truths of God’s Word, the grace of the Gospel, and the character of God, so that they might worship the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. Our hope and prayer is to “…tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done…that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.” Psalm 78:4, 6-7

We aim to be

God-glorifying…Striving to teach children that God, not man, is the hero of every story.

Heart-focused…Hoping to see children with hearts radically changed by God, not just good little boys and girls who merely follow the rules.

Word-saturated…Desiring for children to be filled with the Scriptures.

Gospel-centered…Believing the message of the cross is central to every area of life.

Discipleship-driven…Partnering with parents in teaching children to be disciples of Jesus Christ.

Mission-minded…Trusting that children will treasure Christ and proclaim Him to the nations.

Our team of Sunday morning volunteers are trained by 4OaksKids staff, approved by our Pastors, and cleared through a VECHS background check. They lead our children in prayer, worship, teaching, and small group time.

Our Preschool through Middle School Curriculum

Our Sunday morning school-year curriculum is The Gospel Project for Kids, a 3-year chronological study of the Bible that we began during the fall of 2015. Our children from preschool through 8th Grade are studying the same truths and scriptures as we find Jesus all throughout redemptive history from Genesis through Revelation. Find out more here.

Our Toddlers Curriculum

Toddlers and our youngest preschoolers are taught from “A Sure Foundation”, published by Children Desiring God.  This curriculum teaches simple truth statements that lay a foundation of theology in the youngest of hearts. We cover themes, such as “God made everything” “Jesus is the Boss” and “God is Everywhere”, foundational truths that will be built upon as our children grow.
